Klingon

Klingon is the language developed for the Star Trek movies by linguist Dr Marc Okrand. It has many fans around the world -some say it is the fastest growing language in the galaxy! (I even work with a guy who occasionally mutters to himself in Klingon)

I can't say it is a language that I would be encouraged to learn, but only because I am not a devout Star Trek fan. Many people study the language just for the fun of it, but academics also delve into the intricacies of this unique language

The Klingon Imperial Diplomatic Corp have a site that has freeware and shareware programs that may help you learn the Klingon language (go to the home page, then click on the "Klingon Resources" link, then the "Klingon Linguistic Resources".) They also have forums, discussion lists, and even a Klingon word processor.

The Klingon Language Institute offers all kinds of resources for the Klingon Language, including free lessons and newsletters,  while also offering books and tapes that you can purchase, for a relatively small amount (they are a non-profit group). Explore the site, have fun, and hopefully learn to speak with aliens!

How about Google in Klingon?

Klingonreference.com , although still needing some content to fill it up, has some useful tools, such as a dictionary, thesaurus and translator
